Consulting

A Mind, Body Nutrition & Eating Behaviours Coach addresses the behaviour, the psychology and the physiology.  Treatment will be based on each individual case and managed to support your lifestyle.

This involves a series of one on one coaching sessions to give counselling support and guidance, around eating patterns and behaviours, dietary recommendations, and provides you with facts and knowledge to help you understand your own body,- empowering you to succeed.

I work in most areas of Eating Psychology and the Dynamics of Mind/Body Nutrition, but have a strong focus on where gut health and diet, – greatly improves mind health and function.

Common areas of focus:
– in children with ASD, ADD and learning disabilities, in people with anxiety and depression, in cases of food sensitivities, body image issues and the fear of eating.
I am trained in dealing with disordered eating, ( Emotional & Binge eating), Eating disorders ( Anorexia & Bulimia), and can facilitate interventions in Eating Disorder & Obesity Prevention – approved by the Australian Centre for Eating Disorders (ACFED)

My programs have been created to cater for the most typical scenarios in men, women and children often seen today.

So get back on track and learn how to cope by booking a session today in one of my programs below here on the HappyBalance website. Alternatively leave a message in the HappyBalance inbox or call 1300 2 HAP BAL to arrange a free 15-minute consult to discuss how I can best help you.

Women

1. Food sensitivities, body image and mental health program

I am able to give support to the busy women of today who are rushing through their day, skipping meals, living in a world that has them confused about nutrition. Many women are being challenged with food sensitivities and are plagued by the disease of body image and self-hate that is pushed upon them through social platforms, giving rise to constant dieting and mental health issues, all while trying to juggle a family. Unfortunately, our rushed way of life, that has us picking up poor food habits, hating on our bodies and causing unstable mental well being, often is a bad example for our children….especially our daughters

Children

2. Autism, ADD and gut/brain connection program

I am able to support the many children of today with learning disabilities and their families in understanding Autism, ADD and the gut/brain relationship. By using appropriate diet and better strategies that support our kids’ emotional health, I can help to provide a true understanding of behaviours presented by kids struggling in this way … resulting in happier kids and happier parents.

Men

3. Men in the work place, diet and mental health program

I am able to support the busy working man who has been brought up in a society that begrudges him to understand and honour his emotions. The typical man of today is living a demanding lifestyle that constantly expects him to deliver, leaving him to take up poor health habits in order to meet the daily pressures of life. His poor physical and mental health often results in addictions, family violence, depression, burnout and fatigue and, all too often, suicide. Commonly, a man struggling in this way affects the family dynamic and creates toxic work place environments. Beat the burnout and find out how to get back on top of it all.

Eating Disorder and Obesity Prevention Programs.

What is ACFED Body Project ?– A 4 week (one hr per week) Eating Disorder Prevention program which reduces thin ideal internalisation, body dissatisfaction, negative mood, unhealthy dieting and eating disorder symptoms. This intervention has also been seen to reduce risk of future eating disorders. In addition, there is evidence that the Body Project intervention reduces the risk for future onset of obesity, results in improved psychosocial functioning, and reduces mental health care utilisation . The intervention is the outgrowth of a 16 year program of research on the risk factors for Eating Disorders – byDr Eric Stice and his team at the Oregon Research Institute.

Suitable for: groups of young people ( the research was primarily conducted with females aged 13-19) it offers interventions which demonstrate a significant reduction in eating disorder and obesity onset.
Personal Professional Recommendation: this program would be very suitable for girls grade 6, year 7&8, when peer pressure and social acceptance give rise to hormones and development.
